Teaching
I serve as an instructor in the Gross Anatomy and Embryology course for first-year medical students. Additionally, I teach in the Health Professions Gross Anatomy course for physical therapy and doctor of nursing practice students, as well as in the Clinical Gross Anatomy course for physician assistant students.
Research
My doctoral research focused on post-transcriptional control over mRNAs during male germ cell development. Using a model of synchronized spermatogenesis, I broadly examined how mRNAs are utilized during the mitotic-to-meiotic transition, while also specifically investigating the essential mechanistic roles of ‘RNA-binding motif protein 46’ (RBM46), a germ cell-specific RNA-binding protein, in both mitotic and meiotic male germ cells.
