Teaching

I serve as course director and teach in Histology and Cell Biology for first-year medical students. Previously, I taught gross anatomy and histology at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. I also previously served as an adjunct instructor in the UNC Adams School of Dentistry Department of Diagnostic Sciences while working in private practice as an oral and maxillofacial pathologist.

Research

I am interested in methodologies for improved teaching of basic sciences in the professional healthcare curriculum. Previous research interests included investigation of the etiology of multiple idiopathic cervical root resorption as well as tobacco cessation as influenced by oral health care providers.
